Thu 14th Jul 2016 - Marston’s to expand two new premium brands
Marston’s to expand two new premium brands: Marston’s is to roll-out two new brands through its Revere premium division, The Lost & Found and new brand, Foundry Project. The group will be rolling out two sites for each brand before the end of the year. Foundry Project will open Foundry 39 on Edinburgh’s Queensferry Street this July, with a second site to follow later this year. The namesake of its former factory days, Foundry Project will offer artisan products with a focus on innovative cocktails, craft beers, specialty coffee, sourdough pizzas, and flavoursome burgers. Foundry Project sites will emulate the foundry factory aesthetic through industrial inspired decor with walls featuring a mix of distressed timber and aged metal wall cladding. Following the successful roll out of The Lost & Found in Birmingham, The Lost & Found will open first on Greek Street in Leeds this August, followed by Knutsford in September. The Lost & Found sites; will both be set across two floors with the design based on a Victorian botanical hideaway. The drinks menu will revive classic cocktails from the past, with in-house infused spirits and bitters, served alongside sourdough pizzas and Josper steaks. Managing Director of Revere Colin Sadler said: “We are delighted to have expanded The Lost & Found following the huge success of Birmingham, and are excited to launch the new Foundry Project under the Revere umbrella with these four new sites. We are in discussions on further locations and believe 2016/2017 will be a transformational year for Revere.”

Healthy recipe box startup Mindful Chef launches £400,000 crowdfunding campaign: Healthy recipe box startup Mindful Chef has launched a £400,013 fund-raise on crowdfunding platform Seedrs to expand marketing efforts and develop an app. The start-up has already received approval from the Beckhams and the England rugby team. The “farm to fork” business, founded last year by Robert Grieg-Gran, Giles Humphries and Myles Hopper, is offering 11.76% equity in return for the investment, alongside discount rewards for investors. The company’s aim is to promote convenient healthy eating through a range of gluten-free, organic items delivered to consumer’s homes. Users select recipes online, noting any dietary preferences, and Mindful Chef sources and delivers the relevant produce, which consumers cook at their own convenience. Humphries said the company was founded after spotting a gap in the market for professionals looking to prepare healthy meals but lacking time to source ingredients. Recipes rotate weekly and are created by head chef Louise Mitchell. The pitch states: “We focus on the healthy and premium end of the recipe box market and ship all the ingredients you need to make two-to-five evening meals – all with fresh organic produce and no refined carbs (no pasta, no white rice, no bread). We pride ourselves on our innovative uses of vegetables in evening meals that are both gluten-free and dairy-free. We ship nationwide, and cater for one-person, two-person and four-person boxes. To our knowledge, we also offer the UK’s first and only vegan recipe box, alongside our meat and fish options.”
